Abstract:

The aim of the study is to summarize the international experience in the implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its specific application by multinational enterprises (MNEs) of the oil industry on the African continent. In the course of the study, the author analyzes various continental CSR models, as well as in-depth study of the African model. The social initiatives of MNEs of the oil industry sector, implemented in African countries, as well as the non-regulation of further development and the benefits derived from the implementation of projects in the field of CSR are considered. According to the results of the study, the author concludes that African CSR projects have certain specifics. Since African countries have significant reserves of oil resources, they are of great interest to MNEs in the oil industry. Oil companies such as Shell, Sinopec, ExxonMobile and others are implementing CSR projects in line with the sustainable development goals, developing African economies, investing in education and health care, and helping to educate local African people.
