In the article influence of key universal competences’ level of economic specialties’ graduates on their non-material job satisfaction is analyzed. Short review of scientific literature on the topic is presented. High importance of non-material graduates’ job satisfaction is outlined. Some factors of job satisfaction are described. Authors present logit-model of connection between key competences and non-material job-satisfaction using the data of estimations of economic and managerial faculties’ graduates of Higher School of Economics Nizhny Novgorod. As a result of econometric analysis excess and deficit competences are revealed. The results of the research can be used for adaptation of education programs and improving the efficiency of higher education institutions

Analysis of influence of key competences’ developed during higher education period on further activity of graduates, their success on labor market and job satisfaction is crucial scientific problem of current interest.
In the article two basic approaches to choice of key competences are outlined. The first approach is based on employers’ esteems, so priority competences are those employers consider as most significant according to survey results.
It’s revealed that competences preferred by employers are recognized as insufficiently developed by higher education institution. This fact can be used as motivation for enforcing development of these competences in education process.
Second approach to choosing key competences is based on estimations of graduates. In this case econometric logit-modelling is used to analyze influence of these competences on non-material job satisfaction.
As a result some competences are supposed to affect graduates’ job satisfaction negatively. Authors develop a list of recommendations for higher educational institution to improve insufficient competences and pay less attention to excess ones
