Abstract:

Theoretical approaches determining the notion “innovative potential of a region” are presented; on the basis of their analysis the author formulates his explanation of the essence of this economic category. As the result of the structure of the innovative potential of the region research the necessity of distinguishing the scientific and technical potential and the innovative infrastructure as its components is grounded.
