Modern economy is characterized by global transformation because of a large-scale implementation of digital economy. It provides a change of social, economic, cultural and political spheres of society. We carried out the historiographic and evolutionary analysis of digital economy definition. It allows to emphasize six approaches of digital economy interpretation. We presented system approach to digital economy understanding on the basis of what was created a complex definition of the term. Also we offered the system of digital economy taking into account the state and the person as an integral part of the institutional environment of digital economy. Considering the state, as a part of digital economy system, causes extension of fundamental concepts of foreign economic activity. It assumes need of further implementation of digital economy elements in optimization models of bilateral economic cooperation.
Highlights:
Today there is no uniform approach in domestic and foreign literature to the process of digital economy determination. The set of studied definitions of digital economy can conditionally be divided into six independent directions reflecting different features of scientific thought. In scientific works on digital economy there is a versatile character with lack of due consideration to a role of a person and a state. Formation of complex idea of digital economy demands identification of phenomenon structure that will allow to interpret separate elements in the uniform concept.
