One of the most important factors in the competitiveness of the modern economy is the level of its innovative development. Of particular importance are industrial innovations, the need for which in Russia is due to low rates of its technological development. The article assesses the level of technological base of the economy, identifies the main factors that limit both demand and supply of industrial innovations. These include the lack of credit support by commercial banks of machine-building enterprises that shape the demand for innovation; features of the structure of venture financing; limited state support for small innovative enterprises. On this basis, the elements of an integrated approach to the formation of the demand for innovation in industry and ways to satisfy it, which can be used in the activities of state financial institutions and private investors, are substantiated.
