The article deals with mathematical modeling as a tool that can justify management decisions in innovation, its advantages and disadvantages of application in the modern economy. On the basis of the existing problems of organization of innovative activities, it is proposed to focus on campaigning potential participants. We determined the ratio of criterion/weight which is determined by the efficiency of agitation. A study on the use of mathematical modeling to predict the number of participants to attract innovative detail was conducted. The successful experience of testing the developed mathematical model at the events of the Far Eastern representative office of the SKOLKOVO Foundation is demonstrated. The study may be of interest to specialists involved in the organization of innovation.
