Abstract:

In many countries, investment in human capital is seen as a tool to accelerate economic growth, and the high level of knowledge, skills and competencies of the population is recognized as the key to the success and security of the state on the world stage. This article is devoted to the study of the concept of human capital and its development in economic research, as well as approaches to the measurement of human capital. At the initial stage of the study, the definition of human capital was given and the development of the concept of human capital in economic theory was described. Next, the author considered the measurement methods of human capital and finally identified indicators (indices) of human capital. The findings of the review were concluded.
