The basis of land administration in China is rational use of land and protection of cultivated land. Currently, China remains the dominant position of public ownership of agricultural land. The rest of the land remain in state ownership. The authors analyses the issues associated with state planning and land management, protection and development of land resources, the accounting of unused land and halt the illegal seizure and misuse of land in the PRC. The prospects for the control of land use, planning land use and its impact on efficient land use. The experience of careful attitude to agricultural land in China, as well as strict control of target use of the land will be interesting and relevant to Russian specialists in the field of land management, use and protection of land.
