Ammosov Ivan Nikolaevich – (North-Eastern Federal University in Yakutsk (NEFU))
This article presents the current situation on the regional labor market and explores the possibilities for specialists with higher legal/law education to adapt there. The data on law school graduates and on the demand for lawyers in the public sector of the economy from 2014 to 2017 are analyzed. Currently in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) there is a steady demand for specialists in various industries where lawyers, including graduates of the North-Eastern Federal University, could find jobs. Providing budgetary admission on a competitive basis to the North-Eastern Federal University in the specialty “Law” would allow the most talented and professionally motivated part of the youth to study at the university.
Highlights:
• The growth in the number of private companies and joint Russian and foreign enterprises in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) contributes to an increase in demand for lawyers. Credit institutions increased the types of new services and that demand legal advisers.
• The labor market of lawyers is characterized by relative stability of supply and demand, since the profession “lawyer” belongs to professional groups with high adaptability in the labor market.
• Despite the relatively small need for lawyers, the employment of law graduates of North-Eastern Federal University in Yakutsk (NEFU) with a higher education remains at a consistently high level in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
• It would be highly relevant to propose to create in NEFU several federal and republican budget funded spots for the students in the law specialty.
