Abstract:

The Arctic economic zone (AEZ) of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) is a small and special region in terms of climatic conditions and socio-economic problems, the RS (I) economic zone, which is of significant geopolitical importance for our country. Recently, the territory of the Arctic has become the object of close attention of the state, science and the public. Studies are emerging in the field of studying the labor market and employment in the Russian Arctic regions. This article presents an analysis of the official statistics of TO FSGS for RS (I) in 1985-2016. The list of municipalities included in the AEZ is based on the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) of December 26, 2016 No. 455. The main trends in the dynamics of employment and possible employment prospects of the AEZ of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are disclosed.
