Abstract:

Studies on entrepreneurship attach great importance to studying the factors explaining under what conditions entrepreneurs create new enterprises and, as a consequence, how societies and the economy grow and prosper. Despite the existence of significant studies based on psychological and economic approaches to entrepreneurship, the influence of socio-cultural factors on the development of entrepreneurship remains unexplored. Therefore, the goal of this work is the integration of theoretical knowledge about sociocultural factors and their possible impact on entrepreneurial activity. In this regard, the article emphasizes that the institutional approach can be a suitable basis for the development of future studies analyzing the socio-cultural factors that influence the decision-making on the creation of new enterprises.
