The advent of the information economy, the growing volume of information surrounding us and examples of its commercial and political use to achieve hidden goals (advertising, propaganda, etc.) are increasingly causing protests in society, attempts to limit some types of information. And it is connected in the most part not with protection of someone\’s commercial interests, and interests and health of the population. However, the process of ordering the information around us is complicated by the lack of ideas about the methods of assessing its quality and composition. The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the problem of assessing the composition and properties of information products, which is important both for individual commercial interests of information distributors and for the health of the nation at the level of public interest.
