Abstract:

The analysis of the barriers of externalization of the individual tacit knowledge is presented. Three types of such barriers are identified: individual being unconscious of the existence or the value of knowledge; low motivation to externalize knowledge; objective or subjective complexity of codification of the tacit knowledge. Some possible strategies of overcoming these barriers at the organizational level are considered.
