Abstract:

The article is devoted to the issue of training specialists in the field of material and technical supply in the Soviet period, which was characterized by an increasing role of scientific planning and rational organization of production, as well as to training specialists in the field of logistics at the present time. The article shows the chronology of activity and achievements of the Department of Material and Technical Supply (later Logistics), which is a structural subdivision of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. The article describes the successes of the logistics department not only in the field of educational process in special areas, but also in research and cooperation with future employers. The article indicates a positive "impetus" in the development of education in this field, conditioned by the labor market demand in highly qualified personnel for production and trade enterprises
