Abstract:

The article studies the issues of formation and development of innovative infrastructure in the context of development and production of innovative products. At the present stage innovative processes come with additional challenges associated with imperfections in the innovation infrastructure, which make commercialization of innovations difficult. We reveal the role of universities in creation and promotion of innovation; we identify the main aspects of cooperation between scientific and educational institutions and industrial enterprises in the transition of new ideas through infrastructure to the industrial sector of the region. The scientific and human resource capacities of the leading universities make it possible to consider them as the driving force of innovative processes; the active use of infrastructure facilities will significantly increase the potential for technology transfer. The results given in the article are based on the empirical data of the Southern Federal University; the results allow drawing conclusions about development prospects of innovation infrastructure, the main element of which is the university.
