Among these trends the authors mark the activation of labor mobility, including the expansion of its geography not only to the countries of North America and Europe, but also to a number of Asian countries (South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.); the increase in the number of freelancers from developed and developing countries; the increase in the number of unemployed and people who didn’t undertake higher education; the high unemployment, including among youth; the struggle of companies for people with unique abilities and competencies. The companies of the future labor market most likely will have to reconsider the human resources management system in favor of humanizing labor and individualizing the systems of adaptation, development, promotion, staff assessment, and in favor of treating the employee in the company not as an object but as a full-fledged subject of management. The article shows the results of the author's survey of students of the Economics Department of RUDN University on how they imagine the market of the future, typical managers and employees in 10-20 years. The students who took part in the survey said about two main components that will be the most probable characteristics of the labor market of the future, namely: the huge importance of Internet technologies for recruitment and job seekers, and a high percentage of self-employed (freelancers) on the labor market. Young people consider as the least probable trends the growth number of unemployed and the lack of an inclination of labor force to frequently change jobs. Respondents consider learning, responsibility, leadership, stress-resistance, and creative abilities as probable characteristics of the future workers and leadership qualities, stress resistance, readiness for risk as leaders’ characteristics.
