Abstract:

The article is devoted to the modeling of business processes of hotel enterprises, which is a necessary step when using the process approach to management - one of the innovative trends in the real economy. Using a standardized IDEF0 methodology and CASE-tools we’ve made a functional decomposition of the business process of providing hotel services. We developed context diagram, which unifies mandatory for a hotel company processes of the upper (first) level, and their secondary diagrams (the second-level processes). Complex business function is represented in the form of a coherent set of less complex business functions. For each function we identified: executors (mechanism), what is converted (input) what motivates executors (management), what is the result of function execution (output). The proposed model gives a clear idea of what is exactly the end result of each function separately and of the entire process. It can serve as a regulatory document of the hotel or as documented corporate knowledge, it can be used to develop standards, to identify weak and vulnerable spots in the activities of the hotel, for staff training of the hotel. It is currently used in the educational process in the training of highly qualified experts.
