The article examines the migration strategy of the labor-exporting countries in the CIS. The authors identified the problems associated with the effective implementation of the migration strategy of the labor sending countries in the CIS space. In the opinion of the authors, the greatest influence should be given to the settlement of the legislative base for the export of labor resources in the CIS countries and the development of a well-functioning system of statistical accounting of labor migrants.
Highlights:
► most of the CIS countries do not even have an accurate picture of the number of citizens working outside their countries
► the legal status of a migrant worker going abroad for employment or in search of work, is definitely fixed only in the migration legislation of Belarus and Moldova in view of the definition of "immigrant-worker"
► the greatest attention to the protection of rights of labor migrants abroad pay such countries as Belarus, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan
► the issues of return migration and reintegration practically are not solved at the legislative level, there are no effective mechanisms for the return of labor migrants in the basic migration law of the CIS countries
