Abstract:

The article considers psychotherapeutic theories and peculiarities of the use of methods and means of psychotherapy in sports activity for the activation of inner reserves of athletes.


Highlights:

• Sports experts believe that psychotherapy, which includes a large number of specific methods and means, is an important part of the psychological and pedagogical training of athletes
• Adaptation to the conditions of motor activity provokes the changes in the inner world of the personality
• An athlete and often a coach are in an altered state of consciousness during a competitive performance
• Creation and the use of rituals in sports is the simplest method of psychoregulation
• The choice and application of methods of psychoregulation is very individual
