The article presents the international experience of students' participation in the assessment of the educational process. Educational organizations are becoming customer-oriented, and it is important for them to hear the opinions of students. The research on students' satisfaction with the quality of educational process has been carried out in Europe for over 30 years. And there have been developed technologies for identifying the students’ opinions. The feedback from students allows to improve the educational process: the student participate in the process and can give insider information. The survey data can provide more information, related to students. These are direct data, containing no external interference (reports, records). These data characterize education. National student surveys are also developed abroad and are being actively used there. These nationwide surveys allow to reveal the level of students' satisfaction with the quality of educational processes. They also help to compare universities using the views of the main consumers (students). That simplifies the choice of university for every enrollee.
