Abstract:

The article describes the specifics and nature of the economic interests of the Chinese business community in the state of Montana (USA) during the second half of the 19th century, at the beginning of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century. We give a detailed picture of the geography of interests of the Chinese during different periods of time taking into account changes in the state legislation, the needs for various resource lines in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 21st century. Using the sources we identified groups of dialects of the Chinese business community, which led economic activity with US companies in Montana during the indicated time. We describe typological and dialect differences of Chinese business circles. We show their features during the 19th and at the beginning of 21st centuries. We found out how the conjuncture of international economic relations in the context of a global economic crisis made the Chinese revive the direction, which has been blocked for a long time after a series of standard acts limiting the Chinese in doing personal business and business in the form of societies in the United States and within the jurisdiction of the state of Montana.
