Abstract:

The sustainable social and economic development of the small and medium-sized businesses is the significant structural part of the economy of any country, its basis and the key element of the mechanism for provision of competitiveness. For this, one needs (1) to review the historical development of the resource-oriented approach; (2) to prove priority of the use of the resource-oriented approach for social and economic development issues in small and medium-sized businesses; (3) to mark out directions of the social and economic development of the Russian small and medium-sized business for the purpose the use of the resource-oriented approach. The study is based on the complex analysis of main theoretic models of the resource-oriented approach as well as of opportunities and potential of the resource-oriented approach for improvement of the social and economic situation of Russian small and medium-sized businesses. The author believes that the resource-oriented approach may be successfully used for the state support of small and medium-sized businesses as it allows to provide the maximum social and economic effectiveness of resource development in the region.
