Abstract:

The article studies the phenomenon of “ decentralized governance “ (in particular, the search for an appropriate way of measuring it) and its explaining factors based on the construction of a model of intra-regional decentralization and its econometric estimation (for example, regions of Russia and states of the USA) , which was the ultimate goal of the study conducted by its authors. Assessing the degree of decentralization in this case can be seen as the first step towards a larger goal, i.e. evaluation of the impact of decentralization on the social and economic development, the growth of the real sector of the economy in the regions that will be the subject of further studies of the authors.
