After transition from the state-controlled economy to the market one, the country and its regions have been subjected to a new development in the economic sphere. For development acceleration the implementation of various programs aimed at improving the regions’ economic systems has been performed. Nowadays various regions are still on different development levels and it’s quite complicated to determine and evaluate weak points of each region rationally in order to solve the problems causing its lagging. The state policy is aimed at evening out the inequality between the subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of social and economic development, at determining the weak points of the regions and improving the population’s life quality.
