Abstract:

The author presents a review of popular magazines and journals, which were published in the several areas of Russian Empire in the turn of the XX century. Author shows the wide theme oriented journals, the problems of this period and thestructure of several journals; gives information about publishers and bibliographers. The role of periodicals in the cultural development of country areas is determined. Author underlines the importance and practical value of this information for modernscholars
