The article provides the results of author's research concerning assessment of innovative capacity of small industrial enterprises. The author specifies the concept of innovative potential and gives characteristic of the most widespread methods of its assessment. The greater interest is provoked by structural modes of assessment as they allow to consider the object's features. For small industrial enterprises, the author gives an approximate set of indicators for innovative potential assessment in structural, functional and product aspects, an assessment algorithm is developed.
