Abstract:

The author provides an overview of the pricing theory. The contribution of the cost-based and marginal approaches into the problem of price-formation has been studied. Based on the results of the study, a certain understanding of the pricing theory genesis has been achieved, which can help to forecast the direction of the following development of the pricing theory.
