Abstract:

The article discusses the theoretical aspects of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), its role in the national economy, as well as some basic theories of FDI. Attracting foreign direct investment is a very important development challenge for both developed and developing countries. FDI has several advantages over other types of foreign investment; that is why the author focuses attention on FDI, the interpretation of this term, and the history of its appearance.
