Abstract:

This article discusses the dynamics of private and social rates of return of education in Russia for the period 2000–2009. To calculate the rate of return of education we used a spatial analysis based on the Russian regional statistics. The article shows the relative stability of private rates of return of education in Russia and a sharp decline in the social rate of return of formal education during the crisis period 2008–2009. We may also note a slight increase in economic importance of industrial experience gained with an increase in total experience.
