The paper is devoted to some features of development of special pension funds and corporative pensions in developed countries. The range of population groups falling under such categories of pension provision is quite high abroad, whereas in Russia they attract little interest. The article contains a case study of a special pension fund in Norway, which is built up from oil profits. This could become a desirable example for Russia, particularly under the upcoming demographic crisis.
