Transport tax is one of the most discussed subjects among taxpayers. Most of them believe in a little efficiency and expediency of levying this tax payment. The author criticizes the present transport tax in Russia. As an alternative, he suggests creating the target sources of the road sector financing at all levels of power in the form of road funds, but significantly different from those proposed by the Government of the Russian Federation.
