Among the major social goals of the regional policy are the following: to increase employment and incomes of the population, to improve social infrastructure in the most backward regions and to enhance availability of public goods, etc. All these problems have to be solved comprehensively and in accordance with the basic purpose of the region’s development – increase in the quality of life.
