The article suggests a generalized indicator of effectiveness of agricultural policy. It reflects not only effectiveness of management decisions in the sphere of agriculture, but also the impact of using various resources (labor, fixed and circulating assets), and also allows to estimate the realized agricultural policy in general. The author presents the results of calculating this indicator by the example of the Chelyabinsk Region during the period of 1991-2008.
