The ongoing financial crisis demonstrates the need for effective organization and supervision of insurance companies. The article considers the sphere of internal control of insurers. On the basis of the system’s life cycle, the author suggests stages for forming the internal control. This approach can be used by the owners and management of insurance companies as well as consultants in the field of management consulting.
