Abstract:

We analyze the question of the impact of competition on the nature of innovation activities of companies. The author shows that competition is more likely to stimulate innovation applied, rather than ones of fundamental nature. Thus, in the absence of government intervention the strategies of innovation, optimal for companies, are able to do uneven scientific, technical and economic development and increase the risk of stagnation.
