The article provides methods of knowledge transfer within IT-related multi-project consulting companies in the Russian market, and shows correlation with the level of knowledge of a particular employee. The basic model of knowledge transfer is SECI model of sharing explicit and implicit knowledge (Nonaka & Takeuchi, 2011). When applied to Russian conditions, this model which takes into account the specifics of doing business in companies with Oriental culture evokes some additional barriers. Four companies that introduce SAP-systems and the clients of which are manufacturing companies, banking institutions, retail and telecommunications companies, were objects of the research. The empirical base of the research comprises documents and information on organization of the projects including data of internal documents, questionnaires and interviews with key companies’ personnel.
