The concept of digitalization has recently become common in scientific publications and discussion forums. Along with the advantages, digitalization creates certain problems in the life of society. Especially painfully, the latter can affect the medium-term conjuncture of the labor market. Already in the near future, employers risk a shortage of labor resources that would meet the new requirements of digitalization, but no less serious threat lies in the lack of demand for a large part of the working population. The study was conducted by the authors to study the main trends of digitalization and its impact on the labor market in Russia and abroad; to study the experience of transition to digitalization of production processes of leading companies of the Penza region; to study the opportunities and threats for employers and employees in the context of accelerating digitalization of economic processes; the role of education and training in solving potential problems of shortage of personnel and jobs. The authors consider the global factors of formation of economic development of the states in the medium term. The key areas of risk minimization for employers and labor resources with the new requirements for human capital are presented. The materials of the study may be of interest to a wide range of readers who make up the labor potential of the future, representatives of business and the scientific community.
