In accordance with the growth of population, life expectancy and human well-being, there is a constant increase in the production and resource consumption. And as a result, the amount of household waste materials is growing in an incredible way. In this article we discuss the topic of waste management that in Russia in 2019 has become especially important due to increasing number of protests and strikes against the improper disposal of landfills. The sections include waste classification, statistical analysis of the dynamics of annual waste formation and use in Russian Federation, strategic plan of state support for environmental protection and review of new ecological reforms. An integrated analysis of these factors will be able to help estimate the scale and solutions of the problem globally.
