Abstract:

The state of housing research in Russia in comparison with the western countries of the world is not distinguished by consistency and wide diversity. In our country, a small number of customers and professional participants interested in the results of high-quality housing research. At the same time, the academic community is not characterized by a single movement, which is reflected in the ragged rhythm of research, the lack of global strategic objectives and consistency. In this regard, we set the goal of analyzing the state of housing research in Russia, identifying institutions involved in research in this area and developing proposals aimed at establishing a specialized scientific and practical information system capable of organizing housing research. According to the results of the study, we identified a circle of leading real estate market participants engaged in housing research and interested in their results. The concept of an information system capable of accumulating and incrementing knowledge about the housing sector has been developed. New metrics have been formulated to identify the most powerful researchers and magazines specializing in housing. The findings are addressed to academic researchers, the professional community, and government as potential home research customers.
