Abstract:
Purpose. Based on the analysis of literary sources, studies of foreign and Russian scientists, conduct a study of the phenomenon of political economy in the era of the digital revolution: the stability and flexibility of the object, object and method of Karl Marx and justify their influence on modernity. On the theories of Marxism is the imprint of a certain socio-cultural era, which indicates the need for their revision. Taking into account the essence of the modern socio-economic transformation in the era of the digital revolution, it becomes necessary to study these theories, as they allow you to more accurately understand this phenomenon in order to ensure the economic security of Russia in the modern world system. In view of the foregoing, the goal and objectives of the research are updated. Materials and methods. The methodological basis of the study consisted of the fundamental works of Russian economists in the field of political economy, in the field of Marxism, its evolution and differentiation of its currents. General scientific research methods were used (abstract-logical, economic-statistical, etc.), as well as open analytical materials on its use in the development of the agro-industrial complex. Results. The author considered the concept of "digital economy". The principles of the digital economy in the context of globalization are revealed. The rating of the largest corporations in the world by brand value in 2018 has been characterized. A digital approach to human resource management has been proposed – Digital HR. Considered a promising direction of digital transformation – economic culture. Conclusions. Proper application of the methodology of K. Marx explains many of the phenomena observed in the twenty-first century. First of all, it is an explanation of the processes of globalization through the operation of the law of the tendency of the rate of profit to decrease [3]. Studies conducted using the methodology of political economists are designed to quickly adapt to the real economy and open up the possibility for real sectors of the economy to quickly find ways out of the crisis, which they ended up as a result of a downward wave of global economic development.
